This fall, the work of Joss Whedon will be gracing our television sets once again with the superhero drama, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. S.H.I.E.L.D., as seen in Marvel comics and movies, such as Iron Man, Thor and The Avengers, is a law enforcement agency that tends do deal with threats from the evil superhuman forces in the world.

In the Marvel films, S.H.I.E.L.D. is definitely associated with the big guys from the Avengers, however, Whedon wants to broaden that and is set to make sure that Agents stands apart from the Marvel movies. He insists that if the TV show were to rely too heavily on the Marvel movies, it would be quite unsatisfying to viewers. He also wants people who haven’t seen the movies to be able to tune in and enjoy and understand the show.

The show will have all new characters, apart from the beloved Agent Phil Coulson played by Clark Gregg, who will be leading the new heros into action. Whedon seems very excited about the show and new cast and says, “I think people will want to see them every week.”
