Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman and star of FX’s hit series American Horror Story: Freak Show has opened up in a recent interview regarding her relationship with her fans, and her thoughts?
She just wants to be treated the same as everybody else.
Through her Hindi translator, Jyoti, who plays the character Ma Petite on Freak Show, said “When people see me on TV, they become very happy because they don’t have to interact with me. When they start interacting with me they ask me questions like I’m a baby or treat me like I’m a baby and hold me like I’m a baby, and that’s what they do wrong, really.”
Amage, who is turning 21 years old next month, holds the Guinness World Record for being the smallest woman in the world, sizing up at just under 2 foot 1 inch. Despite her size, her translator says “She didn’t have any reservations because even though the name of the show is Freak Show nobody is a freak here.”
Her favorite part is the unexpected nature of the show. “She has to get in cages and boxes and other things and pumpkins and that’s the most fun part about working in this show and she doesn’t know what’s about to happen from episode to episode.”
While her fan favorite character met an unfortunate end in last week’s episode in what was probably the most heartbreaking scene of the season, the door is open for her to reappear in the series, a situation she is open to and which the fans would undoubtedly love.
