Roll tide, roll!
In an amazing turn of events, Alabama’s wild ban on gay sex has been lifted.
Alabama has been one of the few states to retain statutes against homosexuality as personal and outrageous as a ban on consensual oral and anal sex.
Welcome to the 21st century, Alabama, and congratulations! A twist as positive and outstanding as this shows that there really is hope for all states under our red, white and blue to follow suit into a more accepting tomorrow.
Still, though, it’s appalling to learn that some states still support these bans on “sodomy,” as Susan Watson, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union, pointed out while lauding Alabama’s ruling.
Aiming to ban consensual sex is flat out wrong. A person’s sexual orientation shouldn’t matter. Consensual sex is consensual sex.
