If you ask Alec Baldwin how he feels about the film adaptation of Rock of Ages, he will definitely tell you his true feelings.
On Tuesday night (October 22) at the American Magazine Media Conference, the 30 Rock star called his 2012 film “horrible.”
Rock of Ages was adapted into a film by director Adam Shankman from the hit Broadway musical. The movie also starred Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julianne Hough, and Russell Brand. While Baldwin said he regrets the movie, he accepted the role because he wanted to work with Shankman, Cruise, and Brand.
Baldwin, who played Dennis Dupree, said it was terrible from the very beginning. “It was a complete disaster. A week in you go, ‘Oh God, what have I done?’”
Two weeks before filming was set to take place in 2011, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Baldwin had dropped out of the film. However, it was later reported he was still in the cast, despite asking to be replaced.
The movie was received with mixed reviews with many people calling it “bland.” Needless to say, it was a box office flop.
Clearly Baldwin’s initial gut reaction to the movie was 100% accurate.
