Alicia Keys has been less active in the music industry lately, only offering The Amazing Spiderman 2 soundtrack single, “It’s On Again”, and her latest charity tune, “We Are Here”. After finishing her Girl On Fire era, the songstress has been taking more of a break and announced she was pregnant back in July. The date of the baby’s arrival is no more a secret, as she recently announced that too.
The “No One” hitmaker is expecting her second child with husband, Swizz Beats. During a recent interview on The View, Keys revealed that she would become a mother for the second time this December. She went further to reveal the exact date she’s been told to expect the baby, New Year’ Eve, which she finds kind of cute. She also confessed that motherhood has added to her wish for change and creation of a better world for her children. In her own words:
“Definitely being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and an understanding about just what I believe in that much more. I think no matter who you are and what we might disagree on, or whatever we might think differently about – one thing we can all agree about is that we want a peaceful world for our children.”
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz already have a son together, 3-year-old Egypt.
