You’ve heard her sing, and now you’re seeing her dance! Glee star Amber Riley has taken the stage and paired with professional dancer Derek Hough for this season of Dancing with the Stars.
Riley says she’s come a long way since her first dance number on the show. “In the beginning, like when we did the jive, there were times we would run through the dance and after we were done I would literally just lay on the ground.”
The rigorous training that is expected of all Dancing with the Stars participants has Riley very pleased. The star reveals that her weight loss since joining the show has made her “spending a little worse”due to the fact that “being a little smaller does open up your closet to new choices” but is overall very pleased with her progress as a dancer.
“I am genuinely shocked I am doing as well as I am. But I’m the type of person that if I feel something is going to defeat me, I am going to want to do it.”
But even the most motivated stars can get stage fright. Riley responded to fellow contestant’s, Jack Osbourne’s tweet, “I’m nervous about tomorrow :-/ #DWTS”, with “ditto.” She also retweeted it for her own followers.
Even though she is nervous, Riley promises to give the competition all that she has to offer.
“I am taking this experience and I’m going for it,” she says. “I’m going to do every single thing…and try not to pass out.”
