Last night saw the premiere of the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars and there were certainly a number of impressive performances. None more so than Glee star and fan-favourite, Amber Riley.
In the lead up to last night’s performances, Riley, who is partnered with professional dancer, Derek Hough, took to Twitter sharing with her followers over a number of tweets, her excitement over the competition and what she hopes to achieve with her performances.

As we reported last week, that though used to fast turnarounds and impressive dance routines on Glee, Riley has found the training for the show to be particularly “grueling”. However, all that hard work has certainly paid off as her cha-cha on the show was spectacular, earning her a whooping 27 out of 30 – a record for the first episode of a series. With performances like that I don’t think Riley need to worry about letting fans down. It certainly made me want to take up ballroom.
Riley also had a lot of support from her fellow Glee cast last night with Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Ashley Fink, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Ushkowitz spotted cheering her on from the sidelines.

Dancing with the Stars airs on Monday nights at 8/7c on ABC. You can also catch Riley in Glee’s season 5 premiere on September 26.
