While American Idol runner up, Jena Irene, may have lost to twenty-three-year-old Caleb Johnson, there was no bad blood between the two. So much so that Irene took Johnson as her date to her prom.
The seventeen-year-old had asked Johnson, whose self-titled debut album comes out in August, to attend her prom as her date while they were on Idol. The pair flew into Detroit on Wednesday afternoon and made their way down to the Dearborn Inn for the North Farmington High School prom.
“We’ve been best friends for a couple of months now,” said Irene to reporters on the night. “To actually bring him to prom [and for him to] meet my friends is kind of cool.”
