Alright… Which fangirl stole it?
A green bench in the city of Amsterdam has gone missing, and it just happens to be the bench that Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley share a kiss on in the film The Fault in Our Stars.
The bench sat on the Leidsdegracht and looks just like hundreds of other benches in the city. The missing bench was overlooked for a month, because someone had left a large flower pot in its place.
No one really knows what happened to the bench, or who took it. “It’s a bit embarrassing, because we do keep good track of them, but it’s gone all right,” admitted Stephan van der Hoek, the city spokesman.
The city might have taken the bench away for repairs, or the neighbors might have removed it because of the extra tourist traffic, or a vandal wanting to sell piece of the movie, or even fans wanting a piece of the love story for themselves.
Van der Hoek thinks that the bench was probably taken away by the city because there aren’t any marks on the ground that prove that it was “violently” taken from its spot. He added “Keep your eyes on eBay.”
