These two have known each other since Gaga first appeared on Bennett’s 2011 album, Duets II singing the catchy “The Lady Is A Tramp” from the 1937 Broadway show, Babes In Arms.

Since then, Bennett and Gaga have sung together live, including earlier this month when Gaga showed up at Bennett’s performance at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Now the two have some exciting news for their fans – a JOINT JAZZ ALBUM! Appearing this morning on the TODAY show, the two talked about their album and how it was to work together:

“The collaboration has just been so wonderful. It’s so natural singing with Tony.I just learn so much from him every day. I’m so happy.” Gaga gushed.

Bennett added that he ‘loves the way she [Gaga] sings.’

The album will feature a collection of memorable and popular jazz standards from “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” “Sophisticated Lady,” to “Lush Life” in a mixture of duets and solos from the pair. The jazz genre may seem like a strange choice to some of her Little Monsters but Mother Monster does have a jazz background.

“Since I was 13, I’ve been singing jazz and I sang “Orange Colored Sky” in this event that we did together to raise money for the impoverished people of New York City,” says Gaga. Bennett heard her sing and was so taken by her vocal ability, that’s when he first asked her to collaborate.

Gaga is so taken by Bennett that she’s even had him permanently inked on her body… kind of. Gaga revealed her newest tattoo, Miles Davis’ iconic trumpet, that Tony had drawn for her. “I asked Tony to sketch a trumpet for me, and he decided to sketch Miles Davis’ trumpet — an iconic trumpet. I decided to get a tattoo ’cause I loved it so much.”
