Anna Kendrick has revealed plans to release her hit song “Cups” in the UK.

The actress, who currently has six films in production, released the song as part of the soundtrack to Pitch Perfect, but she didn’t realise that it would become a global hit. Kendrick uploaded a reaction video to Instagram, with the caption, “How I feel about having a song in the billboard top ten for five weeks #ItDefiesLogic.”

“Cups” is an extended version of “When I’m Gone” from Pitch Perfect, which was released last year; and, according to Universal Pictures, will be getting a sequel. The song has sold over 2 million copies in the US and over 46,000 copies in the UK ahead of its official release date.

In an interview with Vulture, Kendrick stated: “I am bewildered. I don’t even know what to say about it. The weirdest thing to me is that its out-positioned artists who are out there promoting their singles, as they should be- they’re musicians! And I’ve been making movies. But it’s bizarre to me that I’m off doing something else, and it’s happening on its own. It’s so cool. But it is absolutely bewildering.”

“Cups” will be released in the UK on October 28.
