There have been a lot of questions surrounding the upcoming Gambit film – whether it would actually get made, if Channing Tatum would bow out of the titular role, what it would actually be about, and whether Rogue would be making an appearance. Well, answers are coming in ebbs and flows, but we got a pretty certain response from Anna Paquin regarding her participation as Rogue.

After it began circulating that her ‘official’ response was negative, she tweeted once more:

She has previously stated that she’d love to play Rogue again – but only if she got to fly like “badass Rogue” from the comics. I guess that offer just wasn’t on the cards this time around.
With production set to begin on Gambit in October, I suppose it would only be a late addition that would see Paquin donning the grey streak once again. It doesn’t rule out the idea that someone else might take the role in this film, but I imagine there would be more than a few angry X-Men fans if that were to happen!
