Fresh off her Oscar-winning role as Fantine in the blockbuster “Les Miserables,” Anne Hathaway has just landed a lead role in the upcoming film “Laggies.” The movie, which will be directed by the acclaimed indie director Lynn Shelton, is set to also star Chloe Moretz and Sam Rockwell. Hathaway will play the role of a 28-year old woman who runs away in fear after her boyfriend proposes to her by pretending to go on a retreat. Instead, Hathaway’s character spends the week with a new group of friends, all of whom are high school students. Moretz will be playing one of Hathaway’s new friends in the film. The movie itself is written by Andrea Seigel, and inspired by her life and personal experiences.
This is the first post-“Les Miserables” role for Hathaway. She had been slated to star in the Steven Spielberg film “Robopocalypse,” but the movie has been placed on an indefinite hold. Are you interested to see Hathaway tackle this role?
