It looks like there is a bit of a love fest going on between Sir Roger Moore and Sherlock and Doctor Who actor and writer Mark Gatiss. While this seems like nothing to comment on, Sir Roger has laid down the gauntlet in asking Gatiss to write him a part in either Sherlock or Doctor Who.
Should Mark Gatiss succeed in this quest and cast Sir Roger in Doctor Who, he would be the second actor who has played James Bond to appear in the sci-fi drama/ Sir Roger’s replacement Timothy Dalton appeared as Head Time Lord Rasillon in David Tennant’s 2009/10 swansong “The End of Time”.
However, since Sir Roger said in reply to a tweet from Gatiss, he could be “equally wonderful in Dr Who or Sherlock if asked,” I would say that Sir Roger and his debonair way and the eyebrow would be better suited to a role in Sherlock, possibly as a shady government colleague of Myroft Holmes. This would allow Gatiss to act with his idol as well.
As a fan of both Doctor Who and Sherlock I would be happy for Sir Roger Moore to appear in either or both of the universes!
