ALS Patient Anthony Carbajal Shares His Hilarious And Heart Warming Ice Bucket Challenge

ALS patient Anthony Carbajal completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in a hilarious fashion before sitting down to explain what the challenge means to him.

Every day for the last couple of weeks, it seems that the Internet has been flooded with ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos. Some challenge videos are hilarious, while others will make make you cringe because you feel the individual’s pain. When I came across Anthony Carbajal’s Challenge video I thought it was just like the others, but Carbajal’s is so much more than just fulfilling a nomination, it has personal significance.

The challenge portion of Carbajal’s video is by far one of the more hilarious ones out there, considering he’s clad in a bikini top and hot pink shorts that read “Kiss My ALS” on the backside. The outfit, coupled with the slo-mo sexy carwash, is all the makings of Internet video GOLD.

Carbajal’s family has a history of ALS, with his grandmother and mother both being diagnosed with the disease which easily explains why he states that he was ‘terrified’ of the disease growing up. Sadly, this past January, he heard the same life changing news. Carbajal, who aspires to be a photographer, explains that he already has begun to lose strength in his arms and hands, making simple tasks like buttoning his shirt difficult.

One of the most frustrating things about the disease is that it attacks only the body, eventually leading to paralysis, all while leaving the mind intact. Carbajal’s video is a brave and touching view into the life of someone living with ALS that only helps further understand why the Ice Bucket Challenge, and the resulting awareness of the disease, is so necessary.

Whether or not you’ve been nominated for the challenge, you can give to the ALS Foundation HERE.
