Teachers don’t like it when a cell phone rings in class. This is an even bigger annoyance for the macroeconomics teacher, Stephen Barrows, at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
His policy is simple: if a phone rings, the student must answer it on speakerphone. This is why the students decided to prank the professor and use his own rules against him. The result is what’s become a late contender for the best April Fools Day prank video! The video went viral after it was posted this past weekend.
In the video, the professor is caught off guard when one of the female student receives a congratulatory call from the “Pregnancy Resource Center,” informing the whole class of the good news.
Dr. Barrows later shared his first thoughts about the whole experience, “Why isn’t she taking this off speakerphone?” Then, he said he knew he had to publicly apologize.
But don’t worry, folks, the supposedly pregnant student had been expecting the call, and already had a name picked out. First name “April,” middle name “Fools”…
Since its Saturday upload, the Aquinas College students’ video has gotten more than 3 million views.
What do you think of the prank? Pretty funny or not at all? Let us know in the comments!
