Ariana Grande And Jessie J Won’t Be Remaking “The Boy Is Mine” After All

Ariana Grande and Jessie J were rumored to remake Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine”, but the two divas have now denied the rumors.

Earlier this month, the news of Ariana Grande and Jessie J joining forces once again for a remake of “The Boy Is Mine” made its way to the worldwide web. However, according to the two songstresses, that does not seem to be quite the case.

The producer of Brandy and Monica’s original, Rodney Jerkins, stated that the two ladies were down for a rendition of “The Boy Is Mine”, as part of a project for his 20 years in the industry. With Ariana Grande first making public that she wasn’t even aware of such thing as a remake, Jessie J has now stepped in to give her two cents on the matter. In her words:

“No, it’s not true, neither of us have agreed. Sadly, people are believing it. I spoke to Brandy and I was like, ‘No, it’s not happening.’ Monica and Brandy are the best.”

Was Darkchild too soon to speak about it? Well, it’s either that, or they’re taking it all back now that they know the internet isn’t really happy about a new version of “The Boy Is Mine”. No matter the case, it would be interesting to hear what Ariana Grande and Jessie J could do with the classic track, to say the least. Things would unlikely be as bad as they were made out to be after all, even though the original is pretty much untouchable.
