The pop sensation is releasing her second studio My Everything on August 25, and with multiple songs already charting on iTunes, Grande clearly is here to prove her pop-diva abilities. Grande announced the video just hours before its release for the song “Break Free” featuring DJ and electro house producer Zedd.
The video begins with a Star Wars-style introduction, leading into a space-bound Ariana Grande with her trademark ponytail and a silver, space-disco type of ensemble while playing savior to an eclectic group of martians. The singer proceeds to kick some alien ass and has some Sandra Bullock style spinning moments (Gravity) that leads to a cosmic dance party, courtesy of the one and only Zedd!
Overall the wacky space journey of a music video is quite visually entertaining and reminiscent of the film Galaxy Quest, while the song itself is definitely a catchy tune that I’ll be listening to on repeat.
