Earlier this month fans of the hit CW show, Arrow, got a mouth-watering teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth season. Stuffed with plenty of quick flashing action shots and goosebumps causing quotes, it left all of us begging for the premiere.
As the days tick down to October 7 (the night of the season 4 premiere) the hype created by the trailer has everyone talking. I should warn you, potential spoilers from here on. If you aren’t caught up on this amazing DC Comic superhero adaptation for our living room couches – than I advise checking out the series streaming on Netflix pronto. You won’t be disappointed.
Arrow season 4 is set to pick up months after our beloved OTP (ok, maybe they are just mine…) set out to live the happy, quiet, suburbia life. They don’t get much time to settle in before Team Arrow shows up needing help from the hooded hero with green arrows.
From the stills released by CW we can see Laurel/Black Canary, Thea/Speedy, and Diggle as well as Oliver and Felicity and new Big Bad, Damien Darhk, the leader of H.I.V.E.. It is also said this season will focus on Oliver becoming the Green Arrow instead of just the Arrow. Fans of the series since the beginning will take noticed to a lighter plot line this season according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim.
“It still feels like Arrow, but at the same time, Oliver’s got a new outlook on life,” Guggenheim explains. “We’re driving conflict to the show in ways that we never would have in the first three years. So it still feels like Arrow, but it’s a different take on the show.”
Check out the stills for yourself and set those calendars for October 7! In addition to the stills, CW has released the official synopsis for Arrow: 04×01, “Green Arrow.” It reads:
MY NAME IS THE GREEN ARROW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) blissful getaway is cut short when Thea (Willa Holland) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) pay them a visit and tell Oliver they need his help back in Starling City. The city has been attacked by ‘Ghosts,’ assassins led by a dangerous man named Damien Darhk (guest star Neil McDonough). However, when Oliver returns, Diggle (David Ramsey) makes it very clear that he doesn’t want Oliver on the team. Thor Freudenthal directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Beth Schwartz and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle (#401).
