As if we weren’t already chomping at the bit for Season 2, a brand new Arrow trailer has swept us all off our feet. The show looks like it’s coming back bigger and stronger than ever, with more action and more classic DC characters!
Producers have already established that the upcoming season will continue to follow Stephen Amell’s character, Oliver Queen, as he transitions from “The Hood” into the one and only Green Arrow. He has a pretty substantial hurdle to overcome, though, as he struggles to get over his end-of-season-one failure.
Even though the trailer doesn’t give us any sneak peeks of the highly anticipated Flash and Black Canary arrival, Blastr has announced they will start filming later this month. We expect casting announcements to land very soon!
Screencrush has also reported that Cynthia Addai-Robinson has been offered the role of Amanda Waller, which is very exciting stuff for Spartacus fans! In the DC universe, Waller works for an organization that popped up earlier in the season, the Advanced Research Group United Support (or, A.R.G.U.S. for short). The same character was also played by Angela Bassett in the 2011 silver screen flop, Green Lantern.
We’re expecting other DC faves to make their entrance this season – we especially can’t wait to see Metamorpho and Sin. Summer Glau (Firefly feels…) has announced that she will be playing a villain this season called Isabel Rochev, and Michael Jai White will illuminate our screens as Bronze Tiger.
Entirely exempt from Warner Bros’ DC movie rights, Arrow is a dream show for comic book fans as it intends to slowly construct a TV interpretation of the DC universe. Can you imagine the potential for spin-offs? Epic.
We just hope they continue to cast the right people. Particularly now that Green Arrow and the Flash are rumored to cross over into the Justice League movie planned for release in 2017/18.
