Assassin’s Creed In 2.5D To Come With ‘Unity’ Season Pass

An all new story to add to the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ list of titles is the new story in China. We hop back to the 16th century and kick butt as Shao Jun.

As part of the season pass for Ubisoft’s upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Unity, gamers will be able to get their hands on a 2.5D adventure as part of downloadable content.

The all-new story, titled Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, will see players doing their usual assassin stuff, but in a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer-style environment. Set in the 16th century, you will control the last remaining assassin of the Chinese brotherhood, Shao Jun, in her journey to avenge her fallen brethren. Whilst the main Unity title is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the work on Chronicles: China falls to Climax Studios, and features a unique art style.

As well as the China based add-on, Ubisoft have also announced the addition of an epilogue to the main Assassin’s Creed Unity campaign, and it again will be available with the season pass. It will see main protagonist Arno venturing to Saint Denis to get up to some assassin filled mischief. Entitled Dead Kings, the downloadable content will also bring access to a “guillotine gun”, which looks a bit like a grenade launcher to me.

All of this fancy new content will be available in early 2015, according to Ubisoft, but the game itself will be available in North America on November 11th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Sadly, myself and my fellow European brethren will have to wait three more days for it to release on the 14th.

Are you excited at the idea of a whole new Assassin’s Creed story set in China?! Let us know!
