Shockingly, a baby girl survived after 3 days of being trapped under her dead father’s body. It’s a miracle the little lady managed to survive under those circumstances, especially when one considers how young she is.
With the mother in jail on a misdemeanor charge, the couple’s 5-year-old son went to the neighbors and told them he thought his father was dead. When Jason Fields fell on 10-month-old daughter Betty Jean Fields, she got trapped and squeezed against the wall, but managed to make it through. Thankfully, there was enough room for the baby’s chest so that she could breathe.
Ron Rivers, Sabine Parish Deputy Coroner, stated that it all looked like the girl’s dad was sitting on the side of his bed on his computer, before he fell backwards and died. He added that the man probably died right when he fell, since there were no signs of effort to move and release the baby girl, while it was later reported that the 43-year-old had been dead for three days. The father has a history of heart problems, which was the assumed cause of death.
Reportedly, there were blisters on Betty Jean Fields’ body and she was dehydrated. However, the baby girl is expected to properly recover and have no problem. Her mother was released early so that she could take care of her two children.
