Bankruptcy Judge Questions 50 Cent’s Financial Status

Judge Ann Nevins has  some questions regarding 50 Cent’s actual financial status.

Thanks to a group of photos that rapper 50 Cent posted on Instagram, the judge in charge of his bankruptcy case is calling him back into court.  It appears that  Judge Ann Nevins has some questions regarding 50 Cent’s actual financial status.

The photos in question all show cash…a lot of it… with 50 Cent or around his home:

Over the summer, his legal team handed documents over to the court stating that while he has assets worth $24 million dollars, his outstanding debt totals $32 million.  And despite the fact that his financial breakdown shows that he owns half a million dollars in automobiles and claims $108,000 per month in expenses, he had previously told the court that his over the top lifestyle was “just for show.”

50 Cent has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  This would allow him to reorganize his finances and pay off creditors over time.  His filing for Chapter 11 came quickly on the heels of the findings in a civil case against him, where a jury ruled that he had to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston after she took him to court over a leaked sex tape.

The judge had this to say about her concerns:

“I’m concerned about allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency in the case […] There’s a purpose of having a bankruptcy process be transparent, and part of that purpose is to inspire confidence in the process.”

No word has come down yet as to what the consequences, if any, of the ill timed posting of the photos will be.
