A possible new piece from street artist Banksy was seen on the side of a home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in England on Sunday, April 13th.

Karen Smith owns the now famous home said that she “heard people talking all night, but (she) didn’t look out.” Smith said she woke up at 7:30am and saw men taking down a white tarp and putting it in a van.

The art is painted around a telephone box and depicts three “1950s style agents” in trench coats and sunglasses holding listening devices, trying to tap into conversations.

It would seem that Banksy is addressing the hot topic issue of British and American government surveillance. The British Government Communications Headquarters has been accused of sharing private information and data with United States intelligence.

The graffiti was not done randomly in Cheltenham. The GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) is located just a few miles away from Karen Smith’s home.

Banksy’s website has not yet confirmed that the artwork is his.
