By now I’m sure you’re all familiar with ‘Batkid’ Miles Scott. The 5 year old leukemia patient was granted his wish in becoming a superhero for the day with help of Make-a-Wish Foundation, Twitter, and the city of San Francisco. The mini caped-crusader took to the streets of ‘Gotham’ to fight his nemesis’ Riddler and the Penguin to name a few.
What makes this day even more special is Hans Zimmer, composer for the Dark Knight trilogy, recorded a song for Miles big day. Zimmer’s publicist Rae Murillo confirmed this in a statement released today.
“Yes, Hans did write a score for Batkid. We’re not yet sure when or how the music will be incorporated, but I do know that there are different elements and surprises being rolled out as the day progresses, so we’re just waiting to see how the music is going to be used.”
Murillo also went on to say that there is no plans right now to release the song to the public but Miles and his family would be given a copy. In addition to his own music Miles will also be receiving a comic book based on the days event courtesy of DC Comics.
It’s amazing to see people go out of their way to create an amazing day for such a strong little boy. Just as San Francisco Mayer Ed Lee said as Miles received his key (made of chocolate of course!) to the city, “Today, Nov. 15, 2013, is Batkid Day forever.”
