Fans of the BBC sci-fi drama, Doctor Who, won’t have to change channels for this! The BBC is set to air a new period drama, Death Comes to Pemberley. This drama will follow the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy as they are shattered by the unexpected arrival of Elizabeth’s sister, Mrs. Lydia Wickham (nee Bennet), who has brought news of her late husband’s murder.
BBC released the official short trailer of the new show, which reveals some familiar faces among the cast!
Jenna Coleman, aka the Impossible Girl, will star as Lydia Wickham alongside Maxwell Martin as Elizabeth Darcy, and Matthew Rhys as Fitzwilliam Darcy.
When Lydia arrives, hysterical and frantic over her husband’s murder, suspicion falls to Darcy, who has a colorful past with the deceased.
This three-part period piece is based on the PD James novel of the same name, and will star others, such as: Penelope Keith, Tom Ward, Matthew Good, James Fleet, Trevor Eve, and Joanna Scanlan.
Starting on Boxing Day, Death Comes to Pemberley will screen across three days between Christmas and the New Year. The first installment will air in the UK on Boxing Day at 8.15pm. The USA will be able to view it on PBS, but the time is still unknown.
