Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, has been hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The office of the Vice President confirmed the younger Biden’s hospitalization, but would not disclose the reason for his admission or his current condition.

The 46-year-old former Delaware attorney general has endured a series of health problems in recent years. In 2010, he suffered a mild stroke, and in 2013 he underwent surgery to remove a brain lesion.

Beau Biden left his attorney general position last year after two terms. He joined a private law firm early this year and was in preparation to run for governor of Delaware in 2016.
