Move over Maleficent, the Beast is coming our way! Disney is preparing for yet another classic animated movie to become a live action adaptation. Beauty and the Beast the animated 1991 Disney classic is the next in line to be re-created into a live action movie.
Beauty and the Beast still remains one of the most well regarded pieces of animation in the history of American cinema. The movie follows Belle on her journey to an enchanted castle, where she meets the Beast. According to sources, Bill Condon, best know for his directing skills for the last two installments of the Twilight Saga, is bringing his directing skills on board for this live action project.
This new live action film will target the teen/tween audience as well as those of us who are still Disney lovers at heart. Beauty and the Beast isn’t the only film being adapted by Jon Favreau (Iron Man). The director will begin production on the live action movie of The Jungle Book , followed by a theatrical release of Cinderella in 2015.
The tale as old as time is still in development and has no current release date.
