In sad news from the Hollywood hills, Ben and Jen are no more.
People has confirmed that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who were together for over 10 years and have three children, have decided to go their separate ways.
The couple celebrated their 10 year anniversary just yesterday, June 29th, 2015.
People confirmed the news, and the couple released a joint statement regarding the end of their marriage:
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
The pair first met on the set of Pearl Harbour, and worked together again on David Slade’s 2003 Daredevil and started dating shortly after.
Their marriage was a quiet affair on a Caribbean Island in 2005.
The split had been rumoured for a while, especially since they did not walk a red carpet together in November 2014, where they attended the Save the Children Illumination Gala at the NYC Plaza Hotel. Affleck and Garner did put up a United Front in May, despite speculation on their marital status.
Back in May, Garner told reporters that the couple often took turns working so the other could stay home with the kids. “I’ve been at home for a long time. It’s my turn and I’m going to work this spring.”
Rumours started rumbling up from the depths again after moving vans were seen outside their home, however the sad news was confirmed today, one day after their milestone anniversary.
Although their fairytale romance is now ended after 10 years of marriage, t
he couple will share custody of their three children, aged between three and nine.
Needless to say, it is a sad day for the pair.
