Benedict Cumberbatch caused quite a stir at the PBS panel Monday with all of his devoted fans. The “Cumbercollective” as Cumberbatch chooses to call them could be found camping outside of the studio waiting for his arrival.

These somewhat obsessive fans, considering Cumberbatch seems to be a skinny, tall, and somewhat awkward British actor, might confuse those who have never seen Cumberbatch’s acting.

So why so obsessive you might ask? Maybe it is Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the hit BBC show Sherlock, his onstage acting in shows such as Frankenstein, or just his talent. Whatever the case, the Cumbercollective is quite the fan base.

So how does he feel about his fans? In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Cumberbatch stated, “It’s extraordinary, really, and a little unnerving. I do feel that it has to be acknowledged, and I know that feeds the whole thing, but I’m a human being, and I have to acknowledge that they are so devoted and committed, and by and large intelligent and, for the most part, normal.”
