The Imitation Game is an upcoming historical thriller which follows genius, Alan Turing. The film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is arriving in theaters in almost a month or so, and a new trailer has now been released.
Played by Cumberbatch, Alan Turing is mathematician, logician, cryptologist and computer scientist from Britain. The Imitation Game focuses on his specialty as a cryptanalyst, who helped crack the German Enigma Code during World War II, a major event that helped the Allies win. It follows him later on, from the time he’s practicing his computer skills in the University of Manchester, until the events that lead to his prosecution for being a homosexual man – at the time forbidden by the law.
In the newly released trailer, the Sherlock star’s character is seen teaming up with another genius cryptanalyst, played by Keira Knightley. The two of them join their forces and get to crack the German Enigma Code together.
The Imitation Game premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and gathered great reviews. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on November 14 in the United Kingdom, with a November 21 release date following for the United States. For the time being, take a look at the trailer below.
