Bette Midler is paying tribute to some of the most harmonious girl groups in music history.
“A long time ago I fell in love with voices in harmony,” Midler stated in a release. “In particular, the sound of female voices singing together. There were so many great girl groups in those days, I still listen as avidly as I ever did. This record is a small attempt to honor them for all the joy they brought to me and the world.”
The Advocate released the cabaret cover of the popular TLC song “Waterfalls”, off of her upcoming album It’s the Girls.
The album will be available November 4 from Warner Bros. records, and the 15 tracks will be covers from female vocalists like the Ronettes, the Supremes, TLC, and the Chiffons.
