Diego has an army from the Realm and Holden’s only hope lies in the mystery of a freezer. We can only hope that Holden figures something out, quick!

Things are looking so good for the town of Fort Reed. Diego has an army from the Realm and Holden’s only hope lies in the mystery of a freezer. We can only hope that Holden figures something out quick!

We start at the FBI where Luke and Willa are waiting to talk to the investigator. Willa is probably wanting to clear up anything with Arthur and confess about the Realm. Willa confesses that her time with Holden in the Realm was selfish. Willa says what she thought they were doing was right, but she doesn’t want any other family to go through what they went through. All of a sudden Luke notices something strange. The FBI agent they have been talking to is a fraud and now she could be dangerous. Willa calls Daniel to warn him not to let anyone in the house. But, Daniel already knows this. He is the one that ratted them out to a “better cause”, the cause of the fraud detective Borden. Daniel wants his payment, but instead he is killed.

The rest of the group is in the woods with Edgar looking for a key to the freezer. Edgar finds it and opens up the lock. What is actually inside the freezer? A big empty box. Edgar says that the freezer is lined with a special fabric that is a serves as a sensory depravation tank. Edgar wants to move the freezer to a different location, coordinates that provide a better connection to the Realm, his old house.

Meanwhile at Hollow Sky, Tess is “running a test” and holding a large group of people. The same group of people that Christine is with. She hands out water bottles and this can’t be good.

We finally see the aftermath of the police spree. Tom tries to tell the sheriff that Diego is going after Holden, but they are not believing him. We know better.

Edgar and Charlie go to his old house and try to get the family to leave so that they can bring the freezer in. Charlie takes care of the mother and they are ready to go.

Luke and Willa go back to Willa’s. Willa wants to go in a destroy the machine, but the machine is probably gone by now.

Jeff and Holden are on their way to Edgar’s with the freezer when Diego and his army try to stop them. Diego gets close but Jeff can drive away. They make it to Edgar’s and are trying to set up there own machine.

Willa and Luke discover that the machine is missing. When who walks in, but Yellow Jacket. He tells them about the army of people that have awoken and also that Frost is not dead. Willa having a gun to his head demands to be taken to him.

Tom gets out of jail and tells Diane everything. She is freaking out and Tom says he thinks he knows who can help. He calls Jeff and Jeff hands the phone to Holden. Holden tells them he is ok, they tell him Diego is out, but then the line is cut. There is a ring at the Matthew’s door. Who could it be? Sheriff Dayton is with them and gets the door. It was the mailman with a package for Diane. What could it be?

Holden does not want to go back to the realm because he wants to stay and protect his family. Edgar tells him the only way to save them is to go back to the realm and close the portal. Edgar also hands him an Elsa walky talky where he can talk to Holden and navigate him to the middle of the Realm. They shut the freezer door and just like that Holden is in the Realm.

Willa, Luke, and Yellow Jacket are at Hollow Sky. Yellow Jacket thinks that Frost is just holding on, but Willa thinks that he is gone. Yellow Jacket believes everything Frost said about the after life. Willa talks to her father and tells him that she is smarter then he ever was. We believe her.

Diane and Tom open the package and it is a DVD. It is a letter from Ian and a DVD. He sends them the video of Holden using his powers in his sleep.

Holden is communicating with Edgar. Edgar tells him to swim into the middle of the ocean. Holden does not want to do it, but Edgar tells him to listen to what the Realm wants and the Realm wants him to swim. So swim, Holden will. Holden hits a wave that has him all flipped around, but then he ends up being transported to a different part of the Realm. We think its the part from the lock, only the chair is empty. Does he have to sit in it? No, it’s Frost. Just like we thought!

Holden is very angry and isn’t sure if Frost is real. Holden is telling Frost that he upset the balance between the Realm and the real world. Balance must be restored, but he must let go of something. Something he is holding on to the most. Frost signals for him to look and it is Holden in his coma. Frost tells him the only way to fix it is to except what he has been running from. He has to make a promise and a sacrifice. He has to stab his sleeping self in the heart. He doesn’t want to do it. Is Frost trying to trick him?

Before Holden can do anything, Frost disappears. Holden picks up the dagger, but young Holden wakes up and begs him not to do it. He says he isn’t ready. Holden does it anyway. Jeff, Edgar, and Charlie are waiting for Holden and he wakes up and returns. What will happen to Holden now? Holden says that they have to send Diego back to the Realm, and that he knows that Diego knows. Edgar says that the only way Holden knows is because he has bonded himself to the Realm. Holden wants to get back to his family to insure their safety, but Edgar wants to go back to the hospital because that is where he belongs.

Edgar warns Charlie that Holden is going to need help. Charlie admits that she already knew, and that the Realm also shared with her that Holden is going to die.

Tess is waiting outside of Hollow Sky when Yellow Jacket gets a phone call. FakeBI agent Borden has arrived.

Holden gets home and hugs his family. He asks if “he” has been there and he hasn’t, but is he coming? Oh yes. Diego is on his way.

The final showdown has to arrive next week with the season finale, but what will happen to Holden. Once he hopefully defeats Diego, does he have to die? How does this bond to the Realm work and what can Charlie do to help? We can’t wait to watch the season finale, next week on Freeform at 8:00 pm E.S.T
