With Willa, Charlie, and the Realm still around, Holden’s attempt at a “normal” life may not be in sight.

Episode 1: "Two Zero One" Recap

The season begins back in Fort Reed, the home of Holden Matthews, but it appears that we are in Holden's house. There is a tornado drawing near and a man wakes up his son to go to a shelter. They get to an exit, but they are too late. The tornado is about to rip through their house.

The next thing we see is a little boy appearing from the rubble shouting for his dad, but he is nowhere to be found. When the boy gets frantic, he figures out he is able to lift up all of the objects to look, with his mind. Just like our friend Holden Matthews.

Flash to Holden, who is seemingly settling into his "normal" life. Even though Holden is trying his best to be normal, Luke tries to tell him that it is never going to happen. With keeping normal life in mind, Holden has the opportunity to work with his father, but he wants to be able to figure things out on his own.

Thank goodness Holden's mom has ended things with Pastor Ian. After handing over Hollow Sky, the authorities has gotten the FBI involved. Holden's parents are having secret meetings with the FBI agent and a police officer. The FBI agent has looked into missing persons across Kansas but has not found any connection, except for one thing: Hollow Sky.

The FBI Agents thinks Hollow Sky is after Holden and will make him another missing persons case. In order to combat this, they want Mrs. Matthews to get back into a relationship with Pastor Ian to keep tabs on the organizations. but Mr. Matthews will not let this happen.

Holden has other feelings about Hollow Sky and does not think they are out to get him anymore but has his doubts about something else going on. Flash to Holden, who finds himself in a room with water pouring out and in the middle is Luke. Only he has bugs crawling out of his mouth. Thank goodness it is just a dream. But could this tell us about what is to come? What is the evil that Holden is feeling?

Holden meets up with Willa at the coffee shop where Luke works to talk about the dream he had. Holden feels like the dreams mean something and that one of those "things" from the bridge at the end of season hasave something to do with it. Willa does not believe him and she is convinced that it is just a dream.

Wait what? Charlie is in a prenatal yoga class, pretending to be a girl named Natalie and seems to be looking to make friends with a women named Robin. Could Charlie be pregnant? Or is this a plan of sorts? After class, she continues to talk to Robin. It seems like maybe she is pregnant, as she claims the father is a one night stand.

Jeff and Holden are picking up some baby items for Jeff's nephew. Jeff asks him about his powers and Willa. But he seems to be digging into the fact that Holden still  has a thing for Charlie, and not to let it get between him and Willa.

With a romantic gesture, Willa has made dinner for Holden. But things got a little too spicy, and I don't mean between the two of them. When they can't handle their food anymore, they head to a bar to get a burger.

Cut back to Charlie, who, thank goodness, was plotting something and is not actually pregnant. Charlie is about to write notes about the woman Robin, when the man with the yellow jacket hops in the cars. He wants Charlie to hurry up with whatever she is working on,but she does not want to push it. Is Charlie talking about Robin or Holden? The man is threathening her foster sister's life if she does not comply.

Back at the bar, Holden and Willa are playing pool when a jerk named Stevie that Holden works with comes over to bother them. He thinks that Holden's dad is going to move Holden up the ladder at work, so they decide to settle the matter with a game of pool. We feel like Holden's abilities may help out in this situation.

When the 8 ball is just short of the pocket, Holden makes it go in. Stevie proclaims that Holden had to of cheated and goes after him, but Willa goes into ninja mode and kicks some serious tail. After Willa tells Holden that she is proud of him for showing restraint when he was kicked to the ground. Way to go, Holden!

At the end of the episode we see, Willa goes home to what is a very frustrated Arthur. Then, we see another man in some mental institution that also seems to have similar abilities to Holden and keeps repeatedly asking for Holden. Then makes the room go up in flames. Could this have something to do with what is possibily on its way?

Episode 2: "Cheers, Bitch"

We start in the past, Holden is in the hospital still and his mother is reading him Catcher in the Rye. When she walks to the vending machine, who walks in, but Willa. Mind blown, Willa had inserted herself into his life before he woke up. Mrs. Matthews tells Willa the story about how she named Holden after the character in the book because in the book, Holden protects people and she thought her Holden could be the same way. Mrs. Matthews shares a little bit about Holden's accident and that she wishes she knew what he was thinking. Willa gives her reasurrance that he will wake up.

Back to the present, Holden accidently admits to dating Willa, and like every mom, Mrs. Matthews wants to invite her for dinner. Will Mrs. Matthews remember her? This could get interesting.

Willa is trying to calm Arthur down, but she is not succeeding. He is determined to fix the machine that Holden broke and find Celeste. Willa will not tell him about how Celeste is not really there. Will she have to break her silence?

Charlie is back to stalking Robin. Where does she fit in? Charlie has snuck her way into Robin's house, but what is she trying to find? In true Charlie fashion, she pours herself a drink before continuing to search.

Bingo! Robin is married to Tess Shoemacher, one of the heads of Hollow Sky.

When Holden is at work, he is called into the office with Stevie, but it is not what it seems. They are promoting him, just what Stevie was afraid they would do. So Stevie is now to train Holden. This can't be good.

Holden is "learning" from Stevie and has to do all of the filing on the computer. Holden tries to apoligize about what happened at the bar, but Stevie is denying that it ever happened, and then threatens Holden to not mess up any of the paperwork.

Back at Tess and Robin's house, Charlie is snooping and putting her unique skills to work. She finds a hidden part of the desk that holds a safe, and using her skills is able to determine the code. She finds some files and things that she is looking for, but she has company.

Charlie has to hide in the hallway while Tess and Robin fight about doctor's appointments. Charlie realizes she never put the whiskey glass back. Robin and Tess are heading into another room when Tess makes her way back into the kitchen and realizes the glass is missing. But, at least that gives Charlie time to exit the house.

Holden is learning that desk jobs can be stressful, especially if you missed out on years of using a computer. When his frustration gets too high, he invisions his desk going up in flames, but it is not real life.

Willa is still trying her hardest to get Arthur to stop fixing the machine so she puts a deadbolt on the door. Due to the fact that Willa only told Arthur the half truth, he is still trying to find Celeste. Willa decides to tell Arthur about the monster her mother had become in the realm. In turn, Arthur slaps Willa across the face. In frustration, Willa hands over the key.

The Matthews' family is having dinner, when the doorbell rings. It's Willa and she brought wine. She claims that Holden invited her, but we don't think he did. Holden's mom think she looks familiar but she can't place it. When Willa starts putting her finger on the rim of her cup, she remembers. Holden starts to freak and his glass shatters.

Jeff has taken on a role at Kevin's window, Christine's house to help take care of the baby, when who should stop by but Pastor Ian. He is offering her a gift basket for her new arrival. But we don't think it is as innocent as it seems.

After family dinner at the Matthews' house, Willa leaves and sits on a bench outside and has a conversation with Luke. They talk about life and who they wanted to be. Holden's parents are talking over the sink and they don't seem to like Willa. They are also saying Holden is sleep walking again and that something weird is going on. With everything going on, they are considering taking the FBI's plan and getting closer with Pastor Ian again.

Finally, the man in the yellow jacket appears and Charlie seems to have what he needs. She hands him photos and a file. She asks is the child in the file is his child. Only the man is not answering many questions. Charlie also found out that Tess has chemo pills. It seems like Charlie is after Arthur and the man in the yellow jacket is after Tess.

Holden "wakes up" and gets out of his bed. There is a ball going down the hallway and the compass is pointing toward it. He decides to follow it and it leads him to a burning world. He must be in the realm. All of those monsters are grabing him and then he really wakes up in the woods.

Back in the mental hospital, we find out that the patients name is Edgar. He is being questioned about what happened. He says he remembers a window that can see outside and that it was all on fire. He also claims something horrible has come. He is still asking for Holden Matthews because "their coming."

Could these be the cloaked monsters? Or something else in the realm? Will Willa believe Holden's fears or will he have to fight on his own? Is Edgar the child from the tornado? How does this all fit together?

We will be watching Beyond next week on Freeform on Thursday, January 25th at 8 pm EST for sure. Are you?
