You can now add director to Howard Wolowitz, um, I mean Simon Helberg’s resume. The Big Bang actor recently sold the international rights for directorial debut.

We’ll Never Have Paris was acquired by Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur’s compant K5 International. The comedy was also penned by Helberg as well as co-directed by his wife, actress/director Jocelyn Towne.

“Jocelyn and I have attempted to tell a story about the complete and utter destruction of our relationship. We knew K5 was the perfect partner for us when they heard about it and said, ‘This sounds hilarious’.” Helberg revealed in a statement.

K5 could not be happier with their choice reaffirming Helberg’s statement, “Simon’s laugh out loud script rounded out with wonderful performances from a grade ‘A’ cast make this the perfect romantic comedy.”

The film also stars Melanie Lynskey (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Maggie Grace (Taken), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) and centers on Helberg’s character Quinn Berman, who seems to have his life all figured out. Right as he is about to propose to his girlfriend Devon (Lynskey) his attractive co-worker (Grace) confesses she has always had a thing for him. Devon flees to Paris and in attempts to win her back Berman follows only to find she has moved on.

Towne and Helberg will act as producers along with Robert Ogden Barnum of e2b Captial and Katie Mustard. Stepping in as executive producers are Marc Platt and Daniel Wagner of BiFrostPrictures, Steffen Aumüller and Zülfikar Güzelgünof the Bridge Finace Company as well as Kevin Frakes, Cassain Elwes, Judd Rubin, Hollis Hill, Rodney Baty, and Carrie Meneke.

Sales for the project kicks off at the American Film Market which began on Monday in Santa Monica. We will be sure to keep you posted when we have a release date!
