It looks like Bill Murray could easily find work as a life coach if he ever decided to give up the whole “genius comedic actor” gig.
Murray recently popped in on a group of Boston College buddies who were celebrating a bachelor party at a steakhouse in Charleston, South Carolina.
One of the partiers had noticed Murray sitting with friends earlier in the evening and had tried to get the actor involved in the festivities. Murray politely declined twice, but must have had a change of heart as he ended up surprising the group with an incredibly wise impromptu speech about getting married.
Murray told the group, “I recommend to you – if you have someone who you think is the one – don’t think okay, let’s make a date, let’s plan this, make a party and get married. Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back and you’re still in love with that person, get married.”
Murray capped off the speech by leading the group in some male bonding as they briefly carried the groom around on their shoulders.
One of the guys caught the once-in-a-lifetime experience on video, so check it out on Deadspin so you too can benefit from the sage words of the one and only Bill Murray!
