Can’t make it to Broadway or the West End to see a musical? No worries. On September 28, the toe-tapping show Billy Elliot will be broadcasted live in local cinemas, DigitalSpy reports.
Based on the 2000 film, the West End production of Elton John’s award-winning musical has been playing at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre since 2005.
“Billy Elliot has always had a very special place in my heart and being involved in the musical has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.,” said John. “Broadcasting the show live to cinemas is a new venture for all of us and will make for a very special event. “
Billy Elliot has won 80 theatre awards since its debut almost 10 years ago.
