Calling all Boy Meets World fans. We have some exciting casting news for you!
The spin-off to the iconic 90’s TV show entitled Girl Meets World follows Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley and her best friend Maya (which sources are saying that Maya is the Shawn to Riley’s Cory) as the two of them begin their Middle School journey.
Boy Meets World creator Michael Jacobs told E! online, “Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular.”
Lee Norris, best known for his role as Minkus, the young boy who knew everything and was known as the “Teachers Pet’ in Mr. Feeny’s class is set to reprise his role in Girl Meets World. “I’ve had a great time being back on set with some of my old friends,” Norris said in a statement exclusively to E! News. “It still amazes me how many people love and remember Minkus, and I’m excited for the fans to catch up with him after all these years.”
Minkus isn’t the only familiar face fans will be seeing on the spinoff. William Daniels who played Corys neighbor and principal Mr. Feeny is also set to reprise his iconic role in the pilot episode. I can hear the Feeny Calls already.
Girl Meets World is set to premiere this summer on the Disney Channel with its first 21 episode arc.
