Disney films – they are something we all know and love, something we grew up on. They fill our childhood memories and make us squeal in delight when they are replayed on television. But, for all of the love that we give them, it can’t be denied that Disney has fallen off the tracks in recent years, with Pixar quickly picking up the reins. It wasn’t until Tangled was released in 2010 that Disney showed us their transformation, complete with new animation, great writing, and a rocking female lead.
Now, the creative executives are at it again with the brand new animated feature, Frozen. The film, which is loosely based on a Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale, tells the story of two sisters, noble Anna and evil Elsa, who battle over the survival of their kingdom.
Co-writer and director Jennifer Lee spoke to Yahoo Movies about the film, “It’s very much a film about the ordinary hero who can do extraordinary things, and that’s Anna.”
The princesses will be played by Broadway veterans, Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa), as well as Glee star Jonathan Groff voicing Anna’s love interest, Kristoff.
On Tuesday, October 1, Disney released a spotlight video focusing on another major character, Olaf, who will be played by Book of Mormon star Josh Gad. As shown in the video, Olaf is a comedic snowman who joins Anna and Kristoff on their journey to save their kingdom from the perils of an eternal winter.

Disney has also released a full length trailer in addition to the spotlight video.
Frozen will be released on November 23 in the US and December 6 in the UK.
