British boy band JLS gave their last official performance as a group at London’s O2 Arena last night.
The group included tracks like “Beat Again” and “Everybody in Love”, and ended their set with a cover of the Boyz II Men track “End of the Road”.
JB Gill, Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold and Oritsé Williams were part of the fifth season ofThe X Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke. Following this, they signed to Epic Records and released two singles, “Beat Again” and “Everybody in Love”, both going number one on the UK Singles Chart. Their self-titled album was released on 2009.
Goodbye- The Greatest Hits, their last album, was released last month.
Cheryl Cole, who was on the X Factor judging panel when JLS were discovered, shared this last show on instagram, saying: “Soooo proud of these boys! Was here on their first day! It only felt right to be here on their last! Love you boys! #farewellJls #muchlove.”
Also among the audience was One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson with girlfriend Eleanor Calder, and Marvin Humes’ wife Rochelle Humes of The Saturdays.
And what does the band say after this goodbye?
Merrygold tweeted: “That hit me like a f**king hurricane! But seriously from the bottom of my [heart] thank u! For now I’ll say ‘see you later’ forget goodbye! #love.”
Oritsé Williams said: “I’m so grateful!!! Thank u thank y all!!!” while JB Gill concluded with: “That was a lot… I went fully in with the stage love in that show… So many amazing messages already! Definitely going on with a band…”
