Brandon Flowers, the former frontman of The Killers, is hitting the studio to work on his solo album–with none other than Grammy-Award-winning producer Ariel Reichstad.
But it wasn’t smooth sailing from the start, as Flowers have revealed that he and Reichstad didn’t initially hit it off.
“He’s taking me out of my comfort zone,” Flowers said. “Normally I make demos and they’re pretty similar to how the song ends up, but he’ll take a song and be like, ‘I hear this’. It’s incredible… his palette and his range, what he’s able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we’re hitting it off.”
Reichstad has worked with the likes of Usher, Justin Bieber and Plain White T’s.
The album is slated for a 2015 release and will be Flower’s second solo project after 2010’s Flamingo.
