Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead today in his New York City apartment, according to a law-enforcement official.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death while the New York Police Department investigates.
According to the official statement, Hoffman, 46-years-old, was found dead at his apartment in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan.
Hoffman won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 for his role as Truman Capote in the film Capote. We recently saw him in the second installment of The Hunger Games saga, Catching Fire.
