Breaking Bad Script Stolen!

Caitlin Swift

Staff Writer

You have got to be pretty brave to break into Walt White (or Heisenberg’s) car. Last December someone broke into Bryan Cranston’s car where it was parked near filming at Sandia Crest. Smashing the passenger’s side window and stealing an iPad and one of the final scripts for AMC’s Breaking Bad. Cranston made a call to 911 to report the stolen items. The bigger issue at hand is the possible leaking of the script. AMC has gone through a great deal to keep the details final season under wraps.

Charles Baker who plays Stinky Pete spoke out on the stolen script “You have a choice to be a better person than that. You’ve already made a choice to steal from a person who is loved by millions of people. Don’t make it worse by betraying the rest of the cast and crew and fellow fans of the show.”

Sony Pictures is not concerned with leaked spoilers and claims that there was never a script taken. “We applaud the efforts of the Albuquerque police in their arrest of the alleged perpetrator and we look forward to sharing the incredible last season with viewers when the series premieres later this year.”

Co-star Steven Gomez also made the claim that Cranston never mentioned any pages or complete script being taken. When speaking with KTLA Gomez shared “When we talked, there wasn’t no script, he didn’t seem worried about a script getting out. Let me tell you, if anyone would be worried about that, it’d be Bryan for sure.”

Script or no script aside, Cranston’s car was still broken into and his iPad is missing. Albuquerque police have made an arrest in the case. Court documents showed that an anonymous source contacted an employee of Cranston’s to inform them that a man was bragging about the break-in. The source also said the man claimed to have an iPad and a script from the show. The police later arrested Xavier McAfee, although McAfee is pleading guilty. However he comes with quite the record, four juvenile offenses, nine felony arrests with one conviction, 11 misdemeanor arrests which lead to six convictions, and a DWI. Let’s not forget three pending felonies as well.

We will keep you updated as the case unfolds. The final season of Breaking Bad airs this summer on AMC.
