Does anyone else seriously miss Flight of the Conchords? I know I do. Unfortunately, no, it’s not coming back. But, we will be seeing the talents of Bret McKenzie bring forth another likely TV hit for us!

Following in the freshly-trod footsteps of popular comedies like Bob’s Burgers and The Regular Show, McKenzie is developing an animated TV comedy for Fox. The as-yet-untitled project will center on the goings on at a NASA space center in Colorado. The story will focus on a group of employees as they work their “almost obsolete” jobs. McKenzie has not yet confirmed the speculation, but it remains a possibility that he will be lending his voice talents to the project.

The Conchords alum, who won an Oscar for his original music from 2011’s The Muppets, will be working alongside some animated TV heavy hitters: Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May. Gama-Lobo and May were co-executive producers on the long-running animated series King of the Hill.

As for McKenzie, the next time we’re scheduled to see him light up the screen is for the third and final installment of the Hobbit film franchise, 2014’s The Hobbit: There and Back Again.
