A highway in North Yorkshire in England has been covered with mashed potato!
A truck carrying a load of the instant mix of the side dish spilled its contents all over the road on 3:30 pm, last Saturday.
“It just came over the blind crest of the road and (I) had to hit the brakes as we were all stopped as there was a tractor on the road about a mile in front going very slowly.” Wayne Dukes confessed. He had been driving with his family when they became witnesses to the event. “The wagon looked like a Warcup articulated wagon with a bulker trailer on, normally used for corn or wheat. It must have been converted for a thick liquid but when he braked hard the mash went forward and over the front of the trailer on to the tractor unit. I had a baby in the car so I was happy I wasn’t nearer.”
The Police and Highway Agency closed the road from motorists on both sides following the incident, while the Fire and Rescue service used freezing chemicals to clear the spillage. When that did not work, they opted to use high powered hoses instead. If you ask me, they should just added gravy and chicken, and called some people over. They would had cleared that up in five minutes!
