The romantic comedy About Time has topped the UK box office charts after its first weekend. The film, written and directed by Richard Curtis (and which he said might be his last film as director) made a total of £1.7 million, leaving behind last week’s winner Riddick, which made £1.4 million.
One Direction’s documentary This Is Us fell to third place, while Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain fell to seventh. Despicable Me 2went up from ninth to eighth place and remains the highest-grossing film of the year in the UK.
