Disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder is back with new album Deja Vu thanks to his work with Daft Punk in 2012. The Italian music producer released his first solo album in 30 years yesterday and it features vocalists Britney Spears, Sia, Charlie XCX, Kylie Minogue and more.
Britney Spears covered “Tom’s Diner”, which was originally released by Suzanne Vega in 1984, but after hearing Spears sing on it, the track sounds like it was made for her. Her voice melds perfectly with the sound and it’s mesmerizing. “Tom’s Diner” is easily a song you could listen to on repeat for hours and not even realize it. In an interview, Moroder said that “Britney had the idea of remaking some of her favorite songs, and that was the one she wanted to do with me,” revealing how excited Britney was to work with him.
