Burger King has shown its support for the LGBT community by creating a Whopper with a message.
Aptly named “The Proud Whopper,” the specially released burger comes with a rainbow wrapper with the inscription “We are all the same inside.” This is in line with San Francisco’s 44th Pride Celebration and Parade.
Now, before you rush to your nearest Burger King in the hopes of eating or sharing a picture of this special meal on your Instagram feed; you should know that this burger was only made available on July 3 for a limited time at one Burger King location on Market Street, San Francisco.
Also, if you are expecting something that tastes different,the burger itself is just a regular flame grilled Whopper. It is just simply wrapped differently , which ties in well with the message of the campaign that deep inside, we are no different from each other regardless of gender and sexual orientation.
Proceeds from the sandwich will also go towards funding a scholarship meant for LGBT high school seniors.
