“She’s just been the most horrible bus driver that I’ve ever had,” Maurissa Rushing, 11, of Kansas City, Missouri said regarding an incident that happened late last week.
The driver did not seem to like the innocent game played by two little girls on their way to school; it involved the touching of one another’s arms, which clearly was too much for the driver to handle. On Friday (May 15), the driver made Maurissa and her friend remain while the other students disembarked, and consequently took them to the back of the bus to inform the girls that they’re gay and will burn in hell.
“She said that we are gonna burn in hell real bad,” Maurissa said, “I didn’t expect it to happen.”
While the bus driver has been fired, Maurissa’s parents aren’t sure that’s enough and may be pursuing a lawsuit. The school, while aware the incident occurred, have no comment on the matter.
Are they wrong to pursue a lawsuit? Should the school do something more to ensure the protection of the children who go there?
You can find Maurissa’s terribly sad video below.
