Calling all districts! Images and promotional material from the next sequel of The Hunger Games trilogy, Mokingjay Part 1, have been released. Not only do we get five (5) gorgeous portraits, but we also get a promo video focusing on President Alma Coin, who is introduced in the final instalment of the 3-book series. Even better, fans are treated to a moving movie poster. Seriously, it’s moving – the flames in the background are alive! On the exclusive website, there are snippets of the teleplay and an interview with the film’s producer, Nina Jacobson, and its director, Francis Lawrence. However, no images or videos with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) have been released.
In one of the videos, Julianne Moore discusses what drew her to the project and the books. She seems to enjoy the political overtones of the series as well as the complex characters within Panem. Moore finds intrigue with President Coin because very little is known about her character. All we do know is what Katniss tells us…. Thus there is a blank slate with the creation of this level-headed protector character.
The actress also discusses what it was like on set. Moore likes having fun when she’s on the job. She revealed that Jennifer Lawrence also enjoys being there and that Lawrence is very funny, which has created a grand atmosphere it seems.
